About Me

My name is Ben Novo, and I am a music educator, performer, and leader dedicated to inspiring students through meaningful musical experiences. I am a current senior at the University of Georgia, pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Education.

As an avid performer, I have had the opportunity to serve as both principal and second trombone with the UGA Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, first trombone in the UGA British Brass Band, and a member of multiple chamber ensembles, including the brass quintet Brass Pro Shop and the trombone quartet Bulldog Trombone Collective. I also spent three years as trombone section leader in the UGA Redcoat Band, where I led a section of 38 trombonists in weekly musical and marching technique rehearsals.

My passion for teaching has led me to work with students across all grade levels, from pre-kindergarten through high school. I have gained valuable classroom experience through student teaching placements, private lesson instruction, summer music programs, and serving as a field and low brass technician for the Woodland High School Marching Band. These experiences have shaped my belief that every student deserves a supportive, engaging, and challenging learning environment where they can grow both musically and personally.

I strive to create classrooms that emphasize strong fundamentals, collaboration, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. Whether working with a full ensemble, small group, or individual student, my goal is to help each learner reach their fullest potential while developing confidence, discipline, and joy in music-making.

Outside the classroom, I remain actively involved in performance and professional development, believing that continued growth as a musician strengthens my work as an educator. I am excited to continue building meaningful connections with students, families, and communities through music.
